Binge eating and overeating help: links to get started

If you’ve been unsuccessful in your attempts to stop overeating, it may simply mean that you need a different approach. Rather than focusing on “taking responsiblity” for your “mistakes,” we see responsibility differently – as being able to respond. What makes us able to respond? To do differently? To put down the fork when we’re full?

Safety. Support. Unconditional love. Compassion.

We don’t learn, heal or grow with work, will power, force, stress, striving, punishment, or coercion. This is not a process of fixing ourselves or erasing our “brokenness.” This is not about blaming ourselves for “creating” our situation with our thoughts. Instead, we gently invite you to embrace your tender humanity – to see your binge eating not as something flawed but “as a sign of the love you bear for yourself,” as a form of self protection.

To learn and grow, we need to feel safe. We feel safe when we stop judging and blaming ourselves. We feel safe when we practice self compassion, self acceptance, and unconditional love. With this foundation, we can grow – we can move out of painful behaviors like binge eating, emotional eating and overeating. We look inside and find our goodness. With this goodness, we rest.

Get support – forum and support group

I believe that healing is impossible without support, as we are interdependent beings and meant to learn, grow and heal together, in relationship.
