In what do you put your faith? What do you believe in to meet your needs? Many of us have looked to food to meet our needs. Or we’ve put our faith in diets, control, will power, getting to the “perfect” weight, finding the “perfect” eating plan, or in the pleasure of eating itself.
When we put our faith in something that doesn’t last, we suffer. When we get too attached to one way of meeting our needs, we panic when it disappears. We succomb to anxiety, clinging to the very thing we need to let go. This is the pain of addiction.
We find freedom when we stop clinging and recognize that we always get what we need – if in a different form. In this audio blog I consider how how we will always have a way to meet our needs…and how putting our faith in something lasting – such as the kindness of our own hearts – versus something temporary – the momentary release of eating – leads to true peace.

well, Karly, you have done it again
Thank you so much for this audio. I as sat listening to it I totally had a melt down. Sobbing and shaking my head yes, I could and can really relate to what you speak of. To understand that myself, and all of us will lose everything we have ever loved, is overwhelming. Yet when I think that it will come back in another form to fill me, it is comforting. I am seeking what those other forms are to me now. I find that it is also scary that I have such little faith that I can be really filled and happy and nurtured without sugar binges and constantly thinking about food. So ironic that it has not made me happy at all in the long run. It has robbed me of years of life, love and health.
I thank God for introducing me to you and your giving heart and all the new friendships here.
You all are helping me on this jpurney and for that I’m very grateful.
In His Grace…
